HomeMy WebLinkAboutEDB Laboratory Services 01-02-A3 AEL Renewal EXECUTIVE SUMMARY AGENDA ITEM: Request Approval of Contract Renewal for Laboratory Services Contract ITB# 01/02-A3 Date: February 10, 2022 BACKGROUND: The Laboratory Services contract with Advanced Environmental Laboratories (AEL) expires on March 10, 2022. However, the terms of this contract allow for the renewal of an additional term, contingent upon mutual agreement of both parties. AEL expressed their interest in renewing the contract.AEL requested a rate increase of 1.5%effective March 11,2022.Per the Contract,if both parties agree to renew the agreement,CCUA may consider a price increase in either of the renewal years based on verifiable changes in the marketplace. Staff compared the rates and have determined the rates to be consistent with the Consumer Price Index. BUDGET IMPACT: co CCUA's annual cost for laboratory services will increase by $2,969.64. Staff calculated the increase based on expenditures in the water and wastewater departments combined in the past fiscal year. z e RECOMMENDATION: Staff respectfully requests the Board of Supervisors approve the contract renewal for the Laboratory Services, ITB #01/02-A3 for an additional one-year term with the stated rate increase. This was discussed last year that adding a 1.5% increase annually would be acceptable with the Clay County Utility Authority. to Additionally, with the current economic and supply chain issues we are experiencing an increase from the current rates will be vital for AEL to provide continued services to Clay County Utilities.
