HomeMy WebLinkAboutEDB Vortex TO #8 for FY21-22 Manhole Rehabilitation EXECUTIVE SUMMARY AGENDA ITEM: Request approval of Task Order No. 8 with Vortex Services (Vortex) for the Fiscal Year 2021- 2022 Manhole Rehabilitation CCUA Bid No. 18/19-A7(b) Date:February 10,2022 BACKGROUND: The Board of Supervisors awarded Part B of the Sewer, Wetwell and Manhole Rehabilitation Services continuing contract to Vortex at the June 4,2019,meeting. Clay County Utility Authority (CCUA) continues to prioritize repair and rehabilitation work throughout the gravity sanitary sewer system. Staff identified manholes needing attention to prevent failure. With the help of the asset management system and field investigations, CCUA prepared a list of forty-five(45)manholes and engaged Vortex to visit the sites and provide a quote for rehabilitation work. 0 BUDGET: 0 ce Staff reviewed Vortex's proposal and determined the fee of $87,949.75 to be reasonable and consistent with the unit pricing contract. The current Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) includes sufficient funding to cover this project. RECOMMENDATION: Staff respectfully requests the Board of Supervisors approve of Task Order No. 8 with Vortex Services for the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Manhole Rehabilitation. Disposal site must be less than 10 miles away from job site. • Owner/Contractor will be responsible for providing an onsite disposal area for any debris removed from the storm pipes. It will then be the Owner/Contractor's responsibility to properly haul off and dispose this material. • Owner/Contractor will provide access to each and every manhole • If necessary,Owner/Contractor will provide Permits&Fees • Water used to clean pipe segment to be decanted in the pipe segment or adjacent pipe/outfall area ACCEPTED: CONFIRMED: The above prices,specifications and conditions are satisfactory and Vortex Services are hereby accepted.
