I serve as CCUA's Public and Governmental Affairs representative, so if you have any issues moving forward, please feel free to reach out to me directly. CCUA operates and maintains the distribution system for the potable water, wastewater, and reclaimed water systems that serve the people living in Eagle Harbor. The Crossings Community Development District (CDD) owns the systems. CCUA understands the source of the snails is the reclaimed water storage pond owned and operated by the CDD. CCUA reclaims wastewater from the Fleming Island communities through our Fleming Island Regional Water Reclamation Facility (WRF). We pump the reclaimed water to the storage pond noted above. Foreign objects and creatures, such as snails, do not have an entry point into the system between our WRF and the storage pond.We included below a photo of the system and storage pond being discussed. cr 0 .r • . .4vi • • r To our knowledge the Crossings CDD remains the sole entity responsible for the operation and maintenance of the storage pond including the pumping system from the storage pond into the reclaimed water distribution system. CCUA does not have any control of or obligation to maintain the storage pond where the snails enter the reclaimed water system. We i will point out the notifications that the reclaimed water system is down for maintenance come from the Eagle Harbor Community(i.e. Crossings CDD). CCUA does not have any role in that process or receive those notifications. We understand the Crossings CDD has struggled with this issue for years. We have recommended the CDD reach out to professionals who specialize in controlling the populations of these types of gastropods. We sympathize with your frustrations because we understand the snails are small enough to pass through the meter veins and cause problems with the irrigation systems. We appreciate your willingness to communicate your issues with the Crossings CDD. We join you in hoping the CDD will be able to find a sustainable solution to this issue Thanks, Dennis Ragosta Public and Governmental Affairs Office: 904-272-5999 Cell: 904-219-4116 Lp•( CO(NT)- STY AUTO IS From: KLMUSSER@ATT.NET<KLMUSSER@ATT.NET> Sent:Thursday,June 16, 2022 11:54 AM to To: bosweb@bos.clayutilitv.org Subject: BOS Contact Form This Message Is From an External Sender This message came from outside your organization.
