AGENDA ITEM:
Proposed Creation of Part Time IT Help Desk Position for FY23 and Transfer of Current IT Intern
to the Part Time Position.
BACKGROUND:
The IT Department resources will be in high demand as the ERP Project kicks off in 2023. This
project is expected to take 100% commitment of two IT staff members. Currently, the IT
Department is comprised of 5 full-time employees. The ERP project commitment will represent
about 50%or more of the department's time over the next 14-18 months. Staff respectfully requests
authorization to continue the employment of a recent High School Intern, Andrew Robertson, as a
part-time employee
The IT Department has heavily supported the Intern Program since its inception in 2016. The IT
Department has employed the following interns: Tatianna Rolon-Rivera (Aug 2016 —Jun 2016),
Christopher Davis (Nov 2016 — Mar 2018), Addison Burggraf(Apr 2018 — Mar 2019), Austin
es Garrett (May 2019- Feb 2020), Chandler Rix (Oct 2019—Jun 2021) and Andrew Robertson (Jun
a 2021- Present). CCUA did not receive any applicants for the IT High School Internship position

E Andrew Robertson,the 2021/2022 IT High School intern graduated from Middleburg High School
and currently attends St. John's River State College. Due to his time spent at CCUA as an intern,
ce
he has a solid understanding of our systems and needs. He has mastered many of the help desk
level tasks including laptop maintenance, deploying iPhones, and most importantly helping staff
resolve computer problems. Andrew is familiar with the CCUA network and will be instantly
helpful to further CCUA's mission.
Given the expected workload of the ERP project, the IT Department will need augmentation. To
retain Andrew as a part-time employee, staff needs authorization to increase the budgeted
head count.
BUDGET IMPACT:
This position would be funded from the Executive Director's Discretionary Reserve.
REQUEST:
Staff respectfully requests authorization to retain Andrew Robertson, outside of the High School
Intern Program as a part-time employee at the rate of$15.00 per hour.
