Proposed approval of the revised Annual Contract Compensation and Price Increase of the Polyethylene
IMFO® Crosslinked Tank Systems Contract with Carl Eric Johnson, Inc.

BACKGROUND:
CCUA's Water Treatment Department purchases chemical storage tank systems on an as-needed basis
throughout the year. On September 28, 2022, CCUA entered into contract with Carl Eric Johnson, Inc.
for ITB#2021/2022-A22 Polyethylene IMFO® Crosslinked Tank Systems.
The Water Treatment Department intends to purchase three (3) tanks this fiscal year 2022/2023.
• (1) Ridgecrest WTP
• (1) Fleming Oaks WTP
• (1) Postmaster Village WTP
co Additionally, they are planning to purchase six (6) tanks next fiscal year 2023/2024.

L The current annual contract amount of$75,000 is insufficient to accommodate these requests given the
associated costs. Carl Eric Johnson, Inc provided a revised price increase sheet.

Further, Carl Eric Johnson,Inc. has expressed their interest in continuing their contract with a requested
rate increase of 7-10%. This request is due to a manufacturer price increase levied on January 1, 2023.
Per the Contract, CCUA may consider a price increase based on verifiable changes in the marketplace.
Staff compared the revised rates and have determined the rates to be consistent with the marketplace.
BUDGET AND COST SAVINGS:
The Water Treatment Department budgets a Capital expense annually of$100,000.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff respectfully requests the Board of Supervisors approve the revised annual contract compensation
and price increase for the Polyethylene IMFO® Crosslinked Tank Systems Contract, Bid No. 21/22-
A22 with Carl Eric Johnson Inc., for an annual estimated amount not to exceed$100,000.
