Subject: CCUA Rate Hearing
Mr. Schantz,
Thank you for your comments. We greatly appreciate and value the time you took to share your thoughts. We will
provide your comments to the Board of Supervisors this evening at the Public Rate Hearing. We will hold our Public Rate
Hearing at 7:00 p.m. at our Administrative Complex located at 3176 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, Florida.
We understand the impacts our rates have on monthly bills. We understand 8.1% is a significant increase. We would like
to provide a bit of context, so our customers understand what the rates, fees, and charges represent. Our team spent a
significant amount of time and effort over the past two years working to mitigate the price increases we are
experiencing from impacting rates. We would like to share just a few examples of the cost increases we are experiencing
to provide the safe and reliable services you depend on. We listed below just a few of the cost increases we must
include in budget being considered.
General Liability and Property Insurance: 67% increase
Transportation Expenses: 26.28%
Communication Expenses: 42.18%
Electric and Fuel for our Water Treatment Plants: 22.73%
Electric and Fuel for our Wastewater Treatment Plants: 17%
Electric and Fuel for our Wastewater Pump Stations: 21.49%

Subcontractors for Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance: 78.79%
Subcontractors for Trash Service: 27.54%
The items listed above are just a sample of the cost increases we are experiencing.Your health and safety remain central
to our mission in serving you. Unfortunately, the cost increases in our budget are necessary to provide safe and reliable
services to every one of our customers.
We want to note we completed payment to the St.Johns River Water Management District for CCUA's financial
participating in the Black Creek to Keystone Heights Pipeline Project. The $1.09 SJRWMD Black Creek Cost Recovery
