Executive Director's Message
With Thanksgiving rapidly approaching, I am amazed how fast this year has flown by.
The CCUA main office will be closed on November 10th in observance of Veterans
Day. I would like to thank our colleagues, family, and friends who are veterans of the
armed forces and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
A huge thank you is owed to the CCUA Wellbeing Committee, especially Ashley
Taliaferro, Lauren Shupe, Lisa Christian, Samantha Conner, and Tammy Spaid. They
hosted an amazing Hall-O-Ween event on October 27th. They did an excellent job
communicating the event to staff and their families and coordinating a fun evening
for roughly 150 participants. I also want to acknowledge the amazing creativity of the
CCUA team. The decorations around the office were amazing and a lot of fun.
Additionally, thank you to those who participated in the door decorating contest and
the winners of the best door and the best office decorations.
Our operations team led by Darryl Muse, David Rawlins, and Ross Bland will be
hosting CCUA's holiday luncheon on Thursday, December 14th. The holiday luncheon
will be hosted in the Maintenance Building. I attempted to help in preparation for the
- luncheon, but David Rawlins is adamant that the operations teams have this covered
and will not disclose their preparations. Aside from the secrecy, I think we can look
forward to great fun, great food, and lots of holiday spirit.
Veins
_ —* *— During the holiday luncheon, we will be recognizing colleagues who have gone above
`` and beyond this past year. If you believe someone has gone above and beyond,
please let your supervisor know. We want to recognize and say thank you to those we
work with who make a big difference in what we do.
With the holidays closing in fast, please coordinate your leave request with your
supervisors. Submitting leave request early will help management ensure time off is
allocated to those who request it, and adequate coverage is available for those who
remain at the office. By communicating and coordinating in advance, we can achieve
both objectives.
Thank you for doing great job every day! Stay safe.
