UPCOMING Executive Director's Message
EVENTS December is here, and Christmas and the New Year is upon us. As we near the
holidays we want to ensure we are able to accommodate those who wish to take
Holidays& additional leave during December and January. If you have not done so already, please

Christmas Eve& CCUA's annual Holiday Luncheon is approaching quickly. We will gather for the
Christmas Day luncheon on Thursday, December 14th from 11AM to 12:30PM in maintenance yard.

preparations and I am confident we can look forward to great food and fellowship to
New Years Day celebrate the holiday season.

During the Holiday Luncheon, we want to recognize our colleagues who have who
Deck the Door Contest have gone above and beyond the call of duty and say thank you. We believe the

Congratulations to Marvin Short, Corbin Bohannan, and Brian Peeples! Marvin and Corbin came in third place in the
Hydrant Hysteria competition at the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association (FSAWWA) Fall
Conference. Brian placed fourth in the Meter Assembly competition. Please be sure to congratulate them when you
see them. I look forward to more of our CCUA colleagues participating in these conferences and competitions in the
years to come.
Finally, we will be briefing the Board of Supervisors this month regarding

Water Works Association
The American Water Works Association (AWWA) was established in 1881 by 22 WELCOME:

The FSAWWA hosts a fall conference annually. Many of our colleagues
represented CCUA at the 2023 Fall Conference in November. The conference

FSAWWA hosted some friendly competition between municipalities to find the
most skilled person or team in various areas such as, the Meter Challenge, Patrick Laniel
Tapping, Hydrant Hysteria, and Backhoe Rodeo. Marvin Short & Corbin Lead Repairs Mechanic
Bohanan placed 3rd overall in the Hydrant Hysteria, where they were tasked
with assembling a fire hydrant as quickly as possible. Brian Peeples and Matt Jeffers placed 4th in the Meter
Challenge, where they were tasked with putting together a completely disassembled meter as quickly as
possible
