HomeMy WebLinkAbout05.b Workshop Tour Meeting Minutes 010524 MINUTES CLAY COUNTY UTILITY AUTHORITY WORKSHOP SESSION January 5, 2024 The Board of Supervisors of the Clay County Utility Authority (CCUA) met in a Workshop Session at the Ray O. Avery Administrative Complex located at 3176 Old Jennings Road at 8:00 A.M. for the purpose of an informational tour. Item No. 1 —Tour The tour began at 8:00 A.M. Chairman Starnieri, Vice-Chairman Lebesch, and Supervisors Hingst, McNees, Petty, and Taylor were in attendance. Also present on the tour were the following members of CCUA's staff; Executive Director Jeremy Johnston, Chief Operations Officer Darryl Muse, Chief Financial Officer Jeff Wesselman, Chief Engineer Paul Steinbrecher, Chief Human Resources Officer Kimberly Richardson, Assistant COO/Distribution & Collection Department Superintendent David Rawlins, Water Department Superintendent Ross Bland, Public & Governmental Affairs Liaison Dennis Ragosta, and Administrative Assistant Operations Alicia Baker. Representatives from Clay County, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and the St. Johns River Water Management District also participated in the tour. Attendees viewed a presentation regarding CCUA's Geographic Information System & Asset Management- Predictive Maintenance Approach presented by GIS Manager Ben Freeman and Mr. Johnston provided a brief overview of CCUA's upcoming Enterprise Resource Platform Project which will be launched on March 25, 2024. A tour was also conducted of CCUA's Maintenance Building and Warehouse Facility. The Workshop Session was recessed at 9:20 A.M. and reconvened at 9:45 A.M. at the Peter's Creek Water Reclamation Facility. Mr. Steinbrecher provided information about the facility which is currently under construction. The Session was recessed at 10:15 A.M. and reconvened at 10:34 A.M. at the future location of the Potable Reuse Pilot Project. Mr. Steinbrecher conducted a tour of the facility which is in the final stages of construction. The Session was recessed at 11:00 A.M. and reconvened at 11:05 A.M. at the Glenhaven Wastewater Pump Station where staff conducted a tour of the station and explained its operation. Staff also conducted a demonstration of the sewer collection system maintenance process using a Vac-con and Cues TV truck adjacent to the pump station. The Session was recessed at 11:32 A.M. and reconvened at 11:47 A.M. at the Saratoga Springs Water Treatment and Reuse Pumping Facility. The tour of the plant included an explanation of the water treatment process and reclaimed water pumping system. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held and lunch was provided for those in attendance. No action was taken during the Workshop Session. The tour was conducted to familiarize the attendees with CCUA's daily operations and plant functions.
