Proposed Approval of Contract Renewal for CLX Chlorine Analyzer and JAW Reagent Contract

BACKGROUND:
The CLX Chlorine Analyzer and JAW Reagent contract with Lazenby & Associates, Inc., is
scheduled to expire on June 20, 2024. However,the terms of this contract allow for the renewal of
an additional one (1) year term, contingent upon mutual agreement of both parties. Lazenby &
Associates, Inc., has expressed interest in renewing the contract with a requested rate increase for
both the CLX Chlorine Analyzer and for the JAW Reagent. Per the Contract, if both parties agree
to renew the agreement, CCUA may consider a price increase in either of the renewal years based
on verifiable changes in the marketplace. Staff compared the rates and have determined the rates
to be consistent with the marketplace.
BACKGROUND:
Based on purchases under the existing contract, CCUA's expected cost for CLX Chlorine
Analyzers and JAW Reagents would increase by$10,713.44 annually. Staff calculated the increase
based on spend of$70,252.77 in the Water Department this past fiscal year.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff respectfully requests the Board of Supervisors approve the contract renewal for the CLX
Chlorine Analyzer and JAW Reagent Contract, ITB #20/21-A8 to be extended for an additional
one (1)year term with rate increase.

contract under the current terms,please sign,date,and return this letter to us by April 30,2024,and we will
consider this confirmation of acceptance of the current terms as stated above.
