July 4, 2024, marks 248 years since 56
delegates from the 13 colonies voted HAPPY
unanimously to adopt the Declaration
of Independence. These Founding . INDEPENDENCE DAY
Fathers declared independence from
Great Britain.What has ensued over the
past 248 years has been the greatest
human experiment in individual liberty
and self-governance.

I hope all of you enjoyed time with your family and friends this 4th of July. In your
celebrations, take a moment to reflect on the hard work and sacrifices made to secure
and protect your freedoms. The Founding Fathers established, and subsequent
generations fought for a country based on ideals that all people are created equal. Let's
keep in mind, we have a duty to protect and pass on the idea of individual liberty and
self-governance to future generations of Americans.
We arrive in July with summer heat and afternoon thunderstorms. This year's
Hurricane Season started quickly with Major Hurricane Beryl moving through the
Caribbean. We are ready for a busy Hurricane Season.
I want to offer congratulations to Karen Osborne for her promotion to Chief Financial
Officer. Karen's knowledge and active engagement will take the departments within
the Financial Group to new levels.

Thank you to our staff that assisted with our Customer Service Extended Hours
event on June 29th! We were able to assist more than 20 CCUA customers with
signing up for the new portal. We even had our new Vac-Con trucks out in the
parking lot as a show-and-tell opportunity. Many of our CCUA customers took
advantage of asking some specific water conservation questions. Thank you for
helping us go the extra mile for our customers during this transition!
