I i hope everyone enjoyed some fun with Q family vacations or other types of getaways. Now our attention begins to \GOhnP shift toward the activities of school and fall starting. This summer has been a hot one. Please remember to stay aqt" hydrated. When necessary, seek shade or shelter to cool off. We do not want t♦ anyone coming down with a heat- related illness. ! ♦ i As we move into August,we expect the tropics to become very active. The predictions for this Hurricane Season indicated this year will be"exceptional".We have the utmost confidence in our team of professionals with the planning and preparation we do on a regular basis. By remaining disciplined in our jobs and related preparations, we will fair this season like the others before. August means we are moving into the last two (2) months of the fiscal year. In writing this year's annual report, I want to acknowledge what a great job our team has done. Open Enrollment Window AUGUST 23 - 29 We will be hosting the 2024 Employee Health Fair from 8:0o AM to 1:oo PM on Thursday,August 15th, 2024, in the CCUA Board Room.All employees are required to attend. Please coordinate with your supervisor as to what time is best for you to attend. For those who have not had the opportunity to attend this event before Health Designs, courtesy of Florida Blue will be conducting health screenings for all employees including,blood pressure,blood glucose, cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglycerides. Please remember, it is not necessary to fast prior to the screening but doing so will provide more accurate results. 4 Appointments are required for your health screening; this will eliminate wait time and allow the process to go much smoother.Also, please remember we will be continuing the $5o a month credit ($25.0o per medical premium deduction) for all who participate in the biometric screening. Please register for your appointment by using the link below. However, if you are not comfortable participating in the screenings offered onsite, you have the option to visit your personal physician, complete, and return the attached Physician's Verification Form.Annual wellness visits are i00% covered by Florida Blue and should be free of charge. Supervisors, please ensure your staff has registered no later than Monday,August 12th If your spouse is covered under the CCUA group health plan, they are encouraged to participate as well. CCUA uses a Vac-Con track camera that allows our staff to navigate through the lines and view the blockage for efficient removal. II P ^ ii Did you know that St. Johns County has a water plant called the Players Club Water Reclamations Facility? It consolidates wastewater flows from the Players Club, Inlet Beach, and Sawgrass wastewater treatment plants in Ponte Vedra Beach into one advanced wastewater treatment facility. 8 The CCUA team took a tour of that plant to see a demonstration of their Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. It helps staff monitor the water and wastewater treatment plant and address system problems efficiently.
