Home My WebLink About05.c.01 CA Financing Request.Cooper EXECUTIVE SUMMARY AGENDA ITEM: Request for financing of Developer Agreement charges for a wastewater service to 3153 Creighton Landing Road, Fleming Island, Clay County, Florida. BACKGROUND: CCUA staff received the attached financing request from Mr. and Mrs. Cooper on August 19, 2024. They are requesting the Board of Supervisors' approval to finance the Developer Agreement charges of$12,497.20 for a wastewater force main service at the above-referenced property,under our normal financing arrangements, for a period of ten(10)years. Mr. and Mrs. Cooper expressed they have a septic system that is showing signs of failure and due to the combined cost from the plumber and charges from CCUA, they cannot afford to pay the full cost of the connection up front, and will need financing arrangements for the charges from CCUA for the wastewater connection to their property. RECOMMENDATION: Due to limited risk, staff respectfully recommends approval of Mr. and Mrs. Cooper's request to finance the Developer Agreement charges of $12,497.20. CCUA has granted similar financing arrangements for other property owners. In addition,CCUA has lien rights as Mr. and Mrs. Cooper hold title to the subject property. Financed connections are currently at a 3.69%interest rate which can be adjusted during our rate resolution every October.The term length for financing cannot exceed io years and will result in a lien placed on the property until the balance is paid in full. In order to be approved for financing,please reply to this email with details of your request for hardship financing. This statement will be presented to the Board of Supervisors at the September 3ra meeting for their approval.
