HomeMy WebLinkAbout05.b.02.a CA Vortex TO #10 Manhole Rehab EXECUTIVE SUMMARY AGENDA ITEM: Request approval of Task Order No. 10 with Vortex Services, LLC (Vortex), Continuing Contract for Sewer, Wetwell and/or Manhole Rehabilitation Services (Part B) for the Fiscal Year 2024- 2025 Manhole Rehabilitation CCUA Bid No. 2018/2019-A7(b) Financial Project No: 25017RR Project No: 2025-058 Date: May 29, 2025 BACKGROUND: The Board of Supervisors awarded the third (31.d) renewal of Sewer, Wetwell and Manhole Rehabilitation Services Part B continuing contract to Vortex at the June 4, 2024, meeting. CCUA continues to prioritize repair and rehabilitation work throughout the gravity sanitary sewer system. Staff identified manholes that need attention to prevent failure. With the help of the asset management system and field investigations, CCUA prepared a list of ninety (90) manholes requiring coating and thirteen (13) manholes needing stop leak material applied. Staff engaged Vortex to visit the sites and provide a quote for the rehabilitation work. BUDGET: CCUA has $100,000 remaining in this fund from previous budget years and staff budgeted $100,000 in the operations repair and replacement Capital Improvement Plan(CIP) for fiscal year 2024/2025. Staff reviewed Vortex's proposal and determined the fee of $145,102.46 to be reasonable and consistent with the unit pricing contract. RECOMMENDATION: Staff respectfully requests the Board of Supervisors approve of Task Order No. 10 with Vortex Services, LLC, Continuing Contract for Sewer, Wetwell and/or Manhole Rehabilitation Services (Part B) for the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Manhole Rehabilitation. B) Coordinate construction schedule with Mr. Steve Rencarge at 272-5999, extension 2433. C) CCUA staff must be given a MINIMUM of five (5) working days' notice before construction commences. D) Contractor agrees to abide by all federal, state, and local safety regulations as well as CCUA safety policies. E) Contractor must provide a project specific payment and performance bond before construction commences. F) This document, along with any attachments, shall become an amendment to the Continuing Contract for Sewer, Wetwell and/or Manhole Rehabilitation Agreement Project No. 2018/2019-A7 — Part B — CIPP Sanitary Sewer Lining System and all provisions of the Agreement will apply hereto.
