HomeMy WebLinkAbout08.d EDB Ratify Em Dec Oakleaf Pump Repair EXECUTIVE SUMMARY AGENDA ITEM: Ratification of Executive Director actions for the Emergency Repair and Related Purchases Declaration at the Oakleaf Plantation Water Treatment Plant(WTP) Date: June 26, 2025 BACKGROUND: On May 16, 2025, staff at the Oakleaf WTP conducted their routine morning inspection and identified a malfunction in the pump for Well No. 1, which had ceased operation. Upon further investigation, it was determined that both the pump and its shaft were not functioning properly, necessitating immediate repair or possible replacement. To address this issue, CCUA engaged Complete Services Inc., a company with the necessary expertise, personnel, and equipment that carried out the urgent repairs safely and effectively. In addition, CCUA's team performed flushing and sampling procedures before the well was reinstated for service. RECOMMENDATION: We respectfully request the Board of Supervisors' ratification of the Executive Director's actions under the Emergency Repairs and Related Purchases Declaration. Emergency Repair Operations - Oakleaf Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Well No. 1 On May 16, 2025, staff conducted their routine morning inspection at Oakleaf WTP and discovered that the pump for Well No. 1 had stopped functioning. Staff immediately began diagnosing the issue and determined that both the pump and the shaft had malfunctioned, requiring immediate repair or possible replacement. CCUA will utilize Complete Services Inc. to perform the necessary repair or replacement. They have experience, staff, and equipment necessary to execute this emergency repair safely and effectively. CCUA's team will perform the required flushing and sampling to bring the well back into service.
