DATE: January 23,2026 RE: Change Order No. 1 an Additional Valve required to maintain operation During Construction. The Contractor submitted the attached Change Order No. 1 for $21,665.77 to replace an additional non-functioning valve necessary to maintain plant operations during the replacement of existing pumps, as outlined in the construction contract. Staff included an $ 80,000.00 - allowance for the replacement of nonfunctioning valves in the existing construction contract. The contractor previously utilized a portion of the allowance to install 3 replacement valves at a cost of$75,796.49. This left $4,203.51 in the allowance. A fourth valve is now required at a cost of$21,665.77. Staff is requesting your signature on Change Order No. 1 to increase the construction contract by $17,462.26 ($21,665.77—4,203.51). An additional 20 days will be added to the contract duration with CO. No. 1. Please review the attached, and feel free to let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
