PROCLAMATION
CLAY COUNTY UTILITY AUTHORITY
Middleburg, FL
WHEREAS, water is a basic and essential need of every living creature; and
WHEREAS, The State of Florida, Water Management Districts and Clay County Utility
Authority are working together to increase awareness about the importance of water
conservation; and
WHEREAS, Clay County and the State of Florida have designated April, typically a dry
month when water demands are most acute, Florida's Water Conservation Month, to
educate citizens about how they can help save Florida's precious water resources; and
WHEREAS, Clay County Utility Authority has always encouraged and supported water
conservation, through various educational programs and special events; and
WHEREAS, every business, industry, school and citizen can make a difference when it
comes to conserving water; and
WHEREAS, every business, industry, school, and citizen can help by saving water and
thus promote a healthy economy and community; and
WHEREAS,outdoor irrigation comprises a large portion of water use, Clay County Utility
Authority will encourage citizens and businesses to focus on improving outdoor irrigation
efficiency;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that by virtue of the authority vested in me as
Chairman of the Board of Supervisors do hereby proclaim the month of April as
WATER CONSERVATION MONTH
Clay County, Florida calls upon all residents and businesses to help protect our precious
water resources by practicing water-saving measures and increasing awareness of the
importance of conservation. In recognition of the 28th year of Water Conservation Month,
this year's focus will be on ensuring that outdoor irrigation systems operate efficiently by
using properly functioning rain shutoff devices.By making sure these devices are installed,
connected, and working as intended, our community can prevent unnecessary watering,
reduce waste, and make better use of the rainfall we receive.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED in regular session this 17th day of March 2026.
