EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ' S MESSAGE AUGUST
August roars in with some incredibly hot days. We have
been repeating the message to stay hydrated and be BIRTHDAYS
aware of your condition. Seek shelter and cool down when
the heat becomes too much. With heat indexes reaching
roughly 110 degrees, hydration and heat awareness are
critical to staying safe. JONAH PARSON 2
Clay County schools return on Tuesday, August 11. This ASHLEY TALIAFERRO 11
school year, we'll be welcoming three high school interns as
we look forward to another successful year. STAN SINGLETON 12
August also means college football season will begin. Will DAVID MCDONALD 14
the Cinderella of last year, the Indiana Hoosiers, be able to
repeat? Will Georgia continue to reign as the SEC CHAD HARTMAN 16
Champion? Will Hot da and Florida .tE be able to get
back to their winning ways? Will M a i stay with players RYDER ONDISH 18
who do not actually attend the university (sure, they ANTHONY VEAL 22
graduated a year ago)? An early game of note on
Saturday, August 29, is New Mexico State at Florida State. DAWN GREEN 27
Go Aggies, beat those Noles! Let the games and trash
talking begin. MICHAEL MURRHEE 27
The Atlantic hurricane season has been quiet so far. While MICHAEL ECHELBERGER 30
forecasts have reduced the expected number of storms BEN FREEMAN 31
this season due to El Nino, we should not reduce our
preparedness. Storms like Hurricane Andrew occurred in
August during an El Nino year. Knowing we perform like we
prepare, let's maintain our normal level of preparation and o 0 0
professional diligence during hurricane season.

constructive and actionable feedback. Based on what we
heard, we are looking at different approaches to future
Employee Engagement Surveys. With our new employee

engage with staff more regularly and gather the insights
that are so important to the long-term health of our 41.111.0
organization. I
Keep up the great work. Stay safe! 4 4
